The Frederick Douglass Memorial

The Frederick Douglass Memorial, in Easton, Maryland, will be the first formal monument in the region where Frederick Douglass was born and raised into a life of slavery…and returned a hero.

A nation-wide competition was conducted to select a design for this memorial honoring the great 19th-Century African-American abolitionist-statesman. The monument will be erected on the front lawn of the Talbot County Courthouse in Easton, Maryland.

The Frederick Douglass Memorial Action Coalition is a grass roots community organization dedicated to education and cultural diversity.
